A Bit of Background

I think most of my life I've had a bit of an identity crisis.  Stuck between being a super jock and a fashion obsessed girlie, my parents each lured me in their separate and decidedly different directions.  (Always nicely of course!) My mom loves to tell the story about the first time she took me out of the house. I was just a few weeks old, but we absolutely could not miss the grand opening of the new, huge shopping mall opening at the other side of the city!  My dad adored having a daughter who played sports, who wasn't afraid to be a little rough and tumble, and who eagerly read the books he constantly passed down. 

Together, they made me who I am. 

An adventurous, educated woman who is currently enjoying her overseas life to the fullest.   

Living in THE city where east and west collide has been an inspiration in and of itself. 

The 15 million people living here provide utter people watching fascination. 

And the life I get to live here...well, it's glorious!

Hopefully this blog will bring you some Istanbul Street Style along with my American roots. 

Joining In

After months of obsessing over numerous fashion and design blogs of the stylish set, I'm taking the plunge and joining the fun.  While I'm no stranger to the blogging world, my other blog Our.Life.Style can be found here: http://k8slong.blogspot.com/, I wanted to take this one in another direction.

Perhaps it's the challenge I was given by a couple of coworkers, or Kendi's 30x30 posts, or the possibility of checking off another one of my 2011 resolutions...probably it's all of the above.  At any rate, I know that I've gotten daily ispiration from tons of sources.  I only hope to do my part.  Wish me luck...here goes!
